Description
The Aguçadoura Test Site is an offshore and onshore demonstration space, providing dedicated infrastructure and support services for the testing, demonstration and validation of marine renewable energy technologies under real North Atlantic Ocean conditions.
The site supports innovative wave energy and floating offshore wind solutions, contributing to technology maturation (TRL advancement), risk reduction and the development of the blue economy.
The facility has supported pioneering projects such as: (1) AWS, Archimedes Wave Swing prototype (2 MW), (2) PELAMIS, wave energy conversion farm (2.25 MW), (3) WINFLOAT-1, floating wind platform (2 MW), and, currently, (4) the CorPower Ocean wave energy farm (1.2 MW).
