The INESC TEC Building is a smart building used as a demonstration and validation facility for centralized energy management solutions, building electrification technologies and the integration of renewable energy sources in buildings. The facility also supports experimental activities involving the integration of electric mobility solutions.

- 8 floors (~150 m²) with co-working spaces and offices, equipped with temperature, CO₂, illuminance and occupancy sensors, with the capacity to act upon distributed resources
- 20 AC electric vehicle charging points capable of dynamically adjusting charging currents according to the latest communication protocols (including ISO 15118)
- 40 kW of photovoltaic solar power
- 2 heat pumps with 3-way circuits and buffer tanks for domestic hot water and space heating/cooling
- Lithium battery energy storage system
- Solar and wind generation forecasting system, including grid electricity CO₂ emissions forecasting
- Integration with the X-Energy Lab
Conditions of Use
Available for use within R&D and demonstration projects, subject to coordination with INESC TEC.
